While preschool staff are contracted by the Butler County Educational Service Center, educators work collaboratively with Lakota's administrators to combine resources and ensure a successful transition to kindergarten.

Diane Keene
Preschool Director
Diane Keene has been Lakota's Preschool Director since 2021. Diane has worked in the district since 1997 as a speech/language pathologist, teacher on special assignment and now as preschool director. Diane believes that relationships should come first in education, which includes relationships with students, families and staff. Observing student progress and working with families brings Diane tremendous joy.
Teresa Berter
Nurse
Teresa joined the Lakota Preschool Team in January 2024 after 19½ years of nursing experience in both the hospital setting and as a Nursing Professor. She provides health services in the school by assessing and treating injuries and illnesses, managing acute and chronic health issues, and educating the students on healthy habits. Teresa and her husband have three adult children (who all attended Lakota Schools), two spoiled dogs, and two adorable grandchildren.
Cassie Dailey
Nurse
The school nurse at Liberty ECS (also serving the preschool students at Liberty) is Cassie Dailey. After joining Lakota in 2020, she started at Liberty the following year with more than a decade of nursing experience. Cassie provides health services in the school by treating injuries and illnesses and managing health issues.
