Preschoolers who do not qualify for Lakota's special education preschool services are welcome to apply for the available tuition-based seats through Lakota's annual lottery process. The lottery for the following school year typically begins in the spring. During open registration, application details will be available below. Applications received after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list pending available seats.
Students currently enrolled may remain in the program without participating in the lottery, provided they meet age requirements. Such students must still complete the annual application. Siblings of children returning to the program are given priority during the registration process.
Tuition-based students applying to Lakota's preschool program must meet the following criteria:
- Children ages three and four are eligible to enroll. Children that are three years old must be three on or before August 1 during the enrollment year.
- If your child is eligible for kindergarten, he/she is not eligible for this program. Children who are 5 before August 1 of the enrollment year are not eligible for enrollment in the program.
- Children must be fully toilet-trained to attend.
- Families must reside within the Lakota School District by the end of the application deadline.
